DNS Configuration

Configure DNS records to connect your domain to Berican Labs. Learn about A records, CNAME records, and more.

1DNS Record Types

Common DNS record types you'll use:

A Record

Points a domain to an IP address. Used for root domains.

CNAME Record

Points a domain to another domain. Used for subdomains.

TXT Record

Stores text data. Used for verification and email settings.

MX Record

Specifies mail servers for your domain.

2Required Records

To connect your domain to Berican Labs, add these records:

# Root domain (example.com)
Type: A
Name: @
Value: 76.76.21.21

# WWW subdomain (www.example.com)
Type: CNAME
Name: www
Value: cname.bericanlabs.com

# Other subdomains (blog.example.com)
Type: CNAME
Name: blog
Value: cname.bericanlabs.com

The process is similar for all: find your domain's DNS settings and add the required records.

4DNS Propagation

After adding DNS records:

  • Changes typically take 5-30 minutes
  • Full propagation can take up to 48 hours
  • Use dnschecker.org to verify propagation

Tip: Lower your TTL (Time To Live) before making changes for faster propagation.
